Hi
I've had my 2Gb black Nano for a week, and I reckon it is AWESOME!!! I just have to get it out on the train (the Nano, I mean) and you can just see everyone around gazing at it in envy! And the sound is much better than the mini I had before. Love it!

Anyway - I am just a little frustrated that I can't figure out how much free space I really have on the thing. On iTunes it says my Nano has 40.6Mb free, whereas the Nano itself says I have 313Mb free! Yet when I sync it it says there isn't ebough room for my photos - and I only have five (and they're small!).

Any ideas whats going on?

you can set the iPods to reserve space for non-music files. change that.

Thanks! that sounds like exactly what I need to do!

One small question though - how do I do it??

I have had a look on the iPod settings in iTunes, and on the pod itself, but I don't see that option anywhere.

thanks for your help!

The only one I know of that allows you to set space for music and space for data is the shuffle. I think all the others have just got the option "Enable Disc Use".

Apparent free space on my 60GB:
according to iTunes 18.7GB
according to iPod 21.9GB
