So what happened to the iPod Nano 6th generation hack? I remember when that kid removed the photos app and replaced it with a space, but after a bit of Googling and Youtubing I really couldn't find any true results of anything coming of it.

So has anyone installed anything else on their 6th generation Nano?

That's basically the most that happened to it. Sadly the iPod Nano 6G isn't running iOS. So its a bit harder to modify then an iPhone or iPod Touch.

Yeah, I realize it isn't running iOS but I figured some sort of application for basic things (calendar, address book, etc.).

I wonder if it never came to fruition due to lack of support, difficulty, or interest?

Seems like there was potential, just a lack of support, I guess.

I think interest died off due to the lack of a Bluetooth chip integrated into the 6th gen nano (and now the 7th gen) If Apple did add a chip, I could see it being huge with 3rd party apps that work as an extension of the notification center on the iPhone. Imagine getting notfication alerts on the nano watch sent via Bluetooth from the iPhone :)
