For some reason, ever since i first had to reset my nano (when it froze), my computer tends to have trouble recognizing my ipod. when it does, itunes tells me something about using the ipod updater. but for some reason, the ipod updater wont really initiallize. i open it, it says initiallizing, and then doesnt really do anything, it sorta freezes. any ideas?

Has it frozen more than once?
Do you have the latest updater?
Are you trying to upgrade or do you try a complete restore?
I haven't got a nano, but can you verify the "disk" in Disk Utility?
Have you tried another USB cable (if you got that available)?

are u using a windows or OSX? i had the same problem but it was my USB 2.0 pc card. make sure everything is up to date.
