iPod iPod Nano "On The Go" Problem

I am using a 7.45gb iPod Nano, purchased 3 months ago. I used the on the go feature regularly until recently, when it has stopped working. Before, I used to press and hold down the centre button for a couple of seconds whilst listening to a song and that song would automatically be added to the on the go playlist. If i press and hold down the centre button whist listening to a song, nothing happens and the on the go 2 playlist that my ipod created automatically remains empty. Anyoine able to help? Is a great feature that I'd be using a lot if I could get it to work again. Many thanks, josefg
