iPod ipod nano vs ipod mini sound quality

I'm planning to buy a macbook and of course will take advantage of the free 179.99 rebate form to purchase a ipod nano. However, I already ahve a ipod mini and was wondering which one would produce better sound quality. I have a pair of shure e4cs and the mini doesn't drive them as well compared to when I plug them into my computer port. I would love to have an ipod that can take advantage of them better. If the nano has the same level sound quality I'm just going to keep mini and sell the nano off. do yo uguys know which is better?
