Well, unfortunately my loved one ran her Christmas present through the washing machine and didn't realize it until she heard it knocking around in the dryer. Earbuds still connected of course.

Well, I pretty much wrote that one off and tried not to appear too dismayed. But, a day later it would turn on, power up, and take a charge. A couple of days after that, the screen returned to normal.

It now appears to be fully functional; just a few nicks from the dry cycle. Didn't phase the earbuds either.

Good job Apple!

I know, surprisingly the new nano is very waterproof and can survive even dropping it in the swimming pool!!! Go Apple for thinking that through-it is so small it can easily be dropped in water or be misplaced-in your case it was misplaced in the washer:)

i bought a nano a year ago and a week later accidentally put it in the washing machine. tried the rice trick but it didn't work. amex purchase protection came through for me, though, and they refunded my purchase entirely.

I had a Nano 6 that went through the wash, sadly it never survived and I ended up having to buy a replacement.

The Senheisser earphones that also went through the wash survived and are still in use now. They've outlived the second 6th gen Nano where the power button stopped responding and I use them with the 7th gen model I have.
