Right here goes.

Ipod 60gig
Windows Vista 64bit

Problem only just started a few days ago. No matter what I do I can't see my ipod in normal or disk mode on any PC or Mac at present. I have tried using different cables, different PC's, different versions of itunes. No matter what I do the same thing happens, my ipod detects an incoming power source but does not synch with the computer. No notification of connection appears on the PC or Mac and device manager(in windows) does not show any connection on the specific usb port that I connect the ipod to.

So far I have tried doing the 5R's(ie resetting etc). Tried connecting in disk mode. Took it into an apple specialist shop(they hadn't seen the problem I have before). Double checked that all my software was up to date. I can't do a factory reset as it requires the ipod to be detectable in itunes.

I suspect this problem was caused by the problem that has been documented with windows vista and the disconnection problem that was encountered but I have been unable to find out how this problem manifests itself.

Any help would be great.

Also while in diagnostics mode and testing the usb connection the following result occurs.

ID=0x22FA05

Anyone know what this means?
