iPod touch iPod not getting noticed by iTunes

My iPod is hooked up to my computer and it makes the noise that its noticed when I connect it. However, it doesn't show up in iTunes anymore. This started when I tried downloaded the 1.1.1 firmware or whatever to jailbreak it. Any help? THanks
