I updated my M1 Mac mini to macOS 15.4.1 and I am not able to transfer songs to my iPod monochrome 4th gen (flash modded 32gb).

Before the update, it worked perfectly. But now, although it shows up in finder and music, I can't drag and drop songs onto it. The ⃠ symbol always appeared on Finder, so that does not affect anything. It's just the 'Do Not Disconnect' symbol that appears on the iPod screen.

It's not the iPod that's the problem, as it still syncs with my intel MacBook Pro running Monterey.
Anyone else affected by this?

I don't have a solution but I'm experiencing the exact same problem, started the day I upgraded to 15.4.1. If you find a solution, please update. In the meantime I'm trying to restore from a time machine backup and will switch off auto updating.

UPDATE: after hours of downloading the time machine sparsebundle files, I find macos refuses to install a time machine backup of an older os version. I'm trying to make a bootable version of 15.3.2 to install from from https://mrmacintosh.com/macos-sequoia-full-installer-database-download-directly-from-apple/ . we'll see if that works.

UPDATE2: I finally got it downgraded to 15.3.2, downloaded the pkg file from https://mrmacintosh.com/macos-sequoia-full-installer-database-download-directly-from-apple/, then I made an USB installer with the command

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sequoia.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyUSB

Booted from the USB stick, had to format the drive (it wouldn't just install on top), then install the older version, create an account, and use migration assistant to restore from my old time machine backup. First thing I did was turn OFF automatic updates. It is now on 15.3.2 and syncs perfectly. What a pain in the ass to do something that should be simple.
