iPod touch iPod only playing some songs SOMETIMES?

There seems to be a problem playing music on my ipod touch. I'll pick a song and it won't play. I'll skip ahead some songs and then that one will play. Then, if I do something and come back, that one might not play anymore. I don't know what's going on.
 
These backups ARE USELESS. I am trying to restore and it says the backups are corrupt so I can't restore. THANKS A LOT! :confused:
