I just got my iPod Photo today and I noticed something new in my iPhoto Library folder...

There is a new folder called the iPod Photo Cache and it is taking up 2.63 GB of my hard drive space!! I guess this is what the hour-long process of "Optimizing Photos" was when I first pugged in my iPod.

This seems kind of ridiculous to me. Does anybody who has an iPod Photo have a solution for this? I don't know if having my iPhoto Library on my iPod is worth wasting that much hard drive space!

The Apple support Web site really is pretty good for stuff like this. They cover the issue here.

You can trash the cache folder if it's too large to keep around. (should add that trashing the cache would mean lengthy sync times again, that's why the cache is there, to avoid that.)

Guess there's not much to do about it... 80 GB sure does get used up fast...

Tell me about it... I am hovering around 25 free, but it drops to less than 10 weekly!
