I have a 30GB iPhoto dock. I just got my wife the new Nano and I was wondering if there is any problem with using the same dock for both iPods. It is not the universal dock - but I think that the only difference is the IR remote sensor.

Has anyone tried it? I may just bite the bullet and plug it in - but I don't feel like frying a new iPod on it's virgin run.

I searched but I couldn't find anything. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well i use my 1g Nano on my ipod mini dock, and that works fine. So i cant see why there would be any difference.

I use a 3G dock for a 3G, 5G, and nano 1G, so I don't see the problem. It should work. The only problem that I ever heard of was with the mini, since it's dock connector was shallower than the 3G/4G, or rocking the nano onto the connector. Just make sure you press on, lift off, and you shouldn't have a problem.
