This is probably a crappy idea and wouldn't work for various reasons that I don't know about but could the new dock work as a passthough for video from the host machine. Therefore allowing desktops without an s-video out to connect to a tv?

Thats what I was thinking but I cannot find anywhere that will simply give me a list of graphics cards that will work for the mac and where to buy them.

I found this online after a bit of searching:

vga to s-video adapter

Now, I can't remember what kind of video-out your computer has, but you can easily find ADC or DVI to vga adapters, so I think you're all set.

Also macconnections.com allows you to search for only mac-compatible video cards, if you want to go that route.

I have adc and VGA connectors. It's easy to find any other connector to s-video but vga -> svideo is a no no. Even mini vga -> svideo is not a problem. Looking at graphics cards now thankyou.
