Ok, so back when iOS 7 was released, I obtained a version from a site unofficially, speaking. I wasn't able to update it to the GM version, but I was able to do so with the betas they released. Frustrated about now being able to get the GM, I wiped the iPod. However, when I tried to set it up it told me there was an activation error and that the device "is not registered as a part of the iPod Developer Program, please register your device in the developer portal..." Help!

I'm sorry to hear what happened, hopefully someone is able to help you out. Although I can't resist and have to say it: you should have known better than to try something that was from an unofficial source.

I had Beta 6 from an unofficial source, so first I restored to Apple's official 6.1.3 (you can find the link somewhere) and then upgraded to the public release of iOS 7.

Sounds like you learned a valuable lesson . . .

Did you put it in DFU mode, then try and restore?

Just download the appropiate firmware file (iOS 7.0.2) for your device from iTunes, or from Felixbruns.de, then, go to iTunes and click Restore.

I went to Best Buy and they told me to put it in recovery mode. It's now restored and I'm currently backing up from iCloud. However, the white loading bar underneath the Apple icon is loading extremely slow (I'm not even sure if it has moved at all in the past half hour). Should I let it continue and hope that it finishes or should I reset it? Thanks.

Just let it do it's thing, if it doesn't work, try it again. I've had to do it a couple of times before because something moofed in the process.
