Ipod Remote + Ibook?

Well I just got my iBook and i noticed that the headphone/audio out jack has the same extra ring like the ipod (for remote use) So I was wondering is there anyway that I can setup mt ibook to use this remote for itunes? all the hardware fits and i'm assuming the port is for a special controllor or extra nob but id still like ot know if any of you have had any ideas about this.

i remember someone bringing this up once but no one could decide what it was. this was before the remote was released... definitely try, probably won't work but it would be cool if it did

I did try it before my first post, i should have said that, But it doesn't do anything so far and I was thinking that there was software or something that might utilize it. Thanks board doesn't seem like anyone knows if its for real tho.
