iPod touch Ipod screen just shows "connect to iTunes"

So I am going to sell my daughters iPod 8GB I bought er for Christmas a year ago. I went into settings and erased everything, now the screen just shows the connnect to iTunes picture.

I hooked it up to her HP mini but it said I need iTunes 8.2 to restore.


COuld someone point me in the right direction. I want to sell this but have to make sure it is all erased and that it is functional before selling.

Also, what would happen if the iPod was hooked up to another laptop, and not the one she used to sync?

Download iTunes 10 on her HP mini to restore it. Simple.

Now if you were to connect it to another computer it would also want to erase the media on it. But it would be easier to do it through the HP mini.
