i feel dumb becasue i can't find the search feature in the iPod, is this only for the new ones that just came out, my ipod is all up to date, so is there a menu, i've been looking all over for it and feel really dumb...

Only for the new ones. If you've updated to version 1.2 on your 5G iPod you get updated video abilities, games functionality, brightness control and smart scrolling but not the search feature.

I wish they'd release a version that brings feature parity to the nanos, the minis had the same features despite the 2G being superior. I'd love the search/smartscroll features.
