iPod iPod settlement before 5g iPods?

I was just wondering if anyone knew anyhting about the ipod settlement for the bad batteries. I would sure like to know if they are giving store credit, that way I can put it towards a 5G iPod to replace my 3G which doesn't hold that long of a charge any more. Hopefully they are really releasing a 5g at the presentation on 10/12 or I'll just look stupid, any thoughts or rumors?

They almost certainly will release an iPod AV at the special event on October 12th. As for the rebate scheme, no sign of that on the horizon, unless Jobs will say "Oh, one more thing, free iPod AVs to all those affected by the battery issue".

I was wondering about that too...I sent my stuff in ages ago, and never even recieved work that it was recieved.
