I am using a 20GM 4G ipod as an external hard drive with a Windows computer connecting with a USB 2.0 cable. I can transfer files to / from the ipod, but the data transfer rate is very slow - actually seems like transfers are being done at USB 1.0 rate.

Any ideas?

Are you sure it's a USB 2.0 port?

Not to sound stupid, but are you sure you're using a USB 2.0 port? The cable will work with both USB 1.0/1.1 and 2.0, albeit much slower with the 1.0/1.1.

Using USB 2.0 port

Yep - I have another drive that I use with this port and data transfers much much faster than with the ipod.
