Hi all,

When I connect my ipod to my (windows) PC, it updates in iTunes, but when I click on my ipod, and look at all the songs in it..they are all greyed out, meaning I cannot delete any. Does anyone know how to solve this? I am trying to follow instructions from the apple switch website, to put a lot of my pc files onto my ipod, but it says you should start off by clearing out your songs, but I can't do this!

It's probably a really simple solution, but any help would be gratefully received :D

OK so you don't want selected songs to be on your iPod, right?

Go to the iTunes preferences with your iPod plugged in, and click on the iPod icon. Check "Only update checked songs".

Then go to your library, hi-light all of the songs you don't want on your iPod (by holding the Apple and clicking them). Then right click on one of the songs and click "uncheck selection". This will uncheck all of the hi-lighted songs.

Update your iPod, and you're done. I hope that's what you were lookin for!

In my knowledge you have 2 choices:
1. Restore w/ the iPod updater
2. uncheck all the songs in your itunes. Then, when you plug in your iPod go to edit-->pref iPod and chooe to only update chcked songs. Your iPod will recognize none and prompt you to erase the songs.

That second one I'm not too sure on. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. If not, I stand open for correction
