iPod Ipod Songs Problem

hi my name's hannah I'm new and well for about a week I've been having some weird thing go on with my ipod video. well first off the ipod is all charged and everything nothing wrong with the videos. Yet the songs are skipping.. just skips to the next song until it has no more songs on the list and goes back to menu. It doesn't even start the song it just skips all of them except for like 8 songs. =/ can anyone help? (very much appreciated) ohh!! and p.s. the itunes doesn't skip when playing anything just on my ipod.

Have you tried restoring the iPod? Also, have you noticed a pattern (e.g. only songs purchased from iTunes are skipping)?
