I have an iPod Classic 80 GB Windows formatted but used on a Mac. Recently, my songs, videos, and podcasts disappeared. In my iPod About (Main Menu>Settings>About) section, these files were labeled as "Extras". I have attempted to use Disk Utility to fix it. However, it doesn't work. When I plug my iPod into my computer, it says:
You can still open or copy on the disk, but you can't save changes to files on the disk. Back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can

This issue might be because of I have not always ejected my iPod before taking it out or because of an iPod virus (despite what Apple claims, there are a few out there).

Official Apple support is a joke--they not only have to go through 30 minutes of "what's your serial number, ok, c for charlie," but also are not smart enough to fix issues. For instance, I called regarding how to show desktop on Mac and they wouldn't tell me about the Command+F3 function. In addition, they told me that my Mac support expired (it should last for 5 weeks but expired one day after I bought it).

May someone help me fix this issue? In my past experience, the online community is A LOT more helpful. Thanks
