iPod touch IPod stops mid song and skips to next

So as you can see from ther title my Ipod stops mid song and skips to next song quite often. This happens on one song in twenty and the weird thing is that I also happens on my boyfriends touch but not on the same songs. I've had a similar problem with videos stopping randomly.

Tried restore. Has anyone else had this problem?

it seems like I experienced this only once, I did not think much of it though, if it is doing it alot then something is not right, are they both jailbroken?

Nope straight from the box with all the relevent apple updates back on launch day

My nano's begun to do this, getting more and more frequent now, although mines will cut out at anytime.

I'd honestly take it back and hope you can recreate the problem.

I think it's a firmware thing. It only happens to a handful of songs for me.

What I do is reconvert the file (iTunes has a converter built right into it if you right click on the song) and it seems to work.

Now if that problem exists for many, many songs, then I'd say return it.

I've found only one song thus far that skips.

(There's a really long thread about it at the Apple forums. I'm thinking it's a firmware glitch of some sort.)
