iPod Ipod to Itunes

I have a ton of stuff on my Ipod hat I got from several friends. I want to put this stuff on my Itunes. I think I have figured out that it is not possible to transfer from the Ipod to Itunes. Just wondering if there was a trick out there somewhere.
