So now that updates are free for the iPod Touch I figured I'd make the move from iOS2 to iOS3 on my 1G iPod Touch.

Bad idea, it seems. Not only is performance worse overall but when I move to the next track often times it will skip 1 or more songs before it settles on one to play. Sometimes the progress meter will automatically skip to the end of the song and just stay there when I hit next.

Ugh, disgusting. I want to go back to 2.2.1. Any idea how I can do this?

You really shouldn't downgrade... go to your nearest Apple Store to get this figured out... Maybe your 3.1.3 is just corrupted. Restore again using iTunes to 3.1.3

I'm doing another restore. I'll make a video explaining the situation if for some reason I can't get it fixed on my own.

I have experienced some performance drop since upgrading to 3.1.3. I have the same "song skip" problem.

I am just pretty much leaving it be, saying that the hardware is just too old. Just waiting for the iPod to outlive its purpose to upgrade.

Following the instructions on the site linked above just met me with an error message (20).

Any other thoughts? This is really bugging the hell outta me.
