I just tried jailbreaking my iPod touch (1st generation) on 3.1.3 with redsn0w, and now it shows the iTunes screen. Tried different cables, ports, different computers, but the only thing that will charge it is a wall adapter. I need to restore it but i cant as it wont connect. rensn0w isnt as reliable as i thought over the years...

Redsn0w actually works better than it ever has
But for that old of iDevice on that older firmware, you must use the correct Redsn0w and you MUST point Redsn0w at 3.1.2 IPSW for it to work correctly ?
Did you do the jailbreak correctly ?

Put your iPod in DFU mode and restore it.
