I'm getting a Mac Pro and the free iPod Touch.
I've been looking for ways to view my Mac Mini content that's in my living in my bedroom.

Can the latest iPod Touch output 1080p or 720p normally somehow?
Can it if it's jail broken?
I was going to use AirVideo to stream the video.

My other options are running wires (36') which would cost $40 or use my Xbox 360 core and Playback which would cost $15.

I'd rather spend the money on a way to get the iPod Touch to output HD and pay $3 for AirVideo bc then I could use AirVideo on 3G for my gf and mine iPhones too.

The iPod Touch simply doesn't have enough power to play back HD video files. No one knows about the Touch 4, but seeing as the iPhone doesn't really have a way to do this, it's unlikely the Touch will.

Also, the get a free Touch with your new Mac promotion ends before the new Touches come out...

i was hoping that wouldnt be the case.
i dont see why not.
h264 files at 1080p arent too intense of files but still very good looking on 32" tvs.

i'm very suprised the ipod touch and iphone dont output hd with an apple cable.
they used to be so ahead of the game...

oh well, xbox 360, airport express, and yazsoft playback will work.
