I've got an external gps receiver that I used with my old phone that works with bluetooth, I was just wondering if I would be abe to use it with my touch 2g as it has bluetooth. Would it need an app from cydia or would it be allowed from the bluetooth menu in settings?

Thanks!

Although I would imagine that the standardized "discovery, exchange codes, connection" method would work between then, I also imagine that the iPhone/iPod don't have the software in Google Maps, etc to understand the particular output of your GPS unit. So unfortunately, you'd probably be stymied halfway through.

However, of course, it's highly likely that the manufacturer may release an iPhone app if they feel like there'd be enough market for it. Why not email/call them and ask?

It's definatly worth a try. You would be surprised how willing companys can be if you just ask!
