I have jailbroken my ipod touch 2g using quick freedom. Yesterday, I updated itunes to 8.2 in windows vista. I have read that itunes 8.2 messes up jailbroken ipod touches. If I were to try to sync my ipod, what would happen? I don't want to mess up my ipod touch. How can I downgrade back to itunes 8.1.1? Where can I download itunes 8.1.1?Can someone help me out? Thanks.

I have vista, iPod Touch 1st gen and latest iTunes. Synced this morning before work and my jailbroken iPod is working fine here
I have not heard anything about it effecting jailbroken ipods touches specifically but 8.2 has had issues with ipod touch 2nd gens on what seems to be a random basis.
I never download an update right away, there are always problems and the last thing I want to deal with is the update screwing something up. I usually wait for the x.x.1 update.

The reason I ask is because I have read that 8.2 breaks the jailbreak, and itunes will no longer read the iphone. But I wanted to see if this affected the ipod touch 2G also.

I'm running Vista and haven't had any problems with my 2nd gen iPod Touch. The only thing that happened was the Windows notification in the system tray popped up and said the my iPod had been successfully installed the first time I plugged it in after the update.
Itouch 2G 32MB won't sync with itunes 8.2
I can't sync with itunes 8.2. It seems many of the itunes 2G 32 MB are not able to sync from what I've seen in other forms. I'm not sure if the other itouch 2g are having problems also. I'm also running Windows Vista. Mine is not jailbroken.

So tonight I decided unjailbreak my 32GB ipod touch 2g in itunes 8.1.1 by restoring 2.2.1. That went fine. Afterwards, I updated itunes to 8.2. Now when I plug in my ipod, I don't get any response. I've read that other people have had similar problems. But has anyone found a fix?

Couldn't sync with 8.2 itunes same problem with 9.0 itunes. Mine is not jailbroken 32 MB. Can't believe this known problem has gone on so long. Apple's only advice was to downgrade to 8.1
