iPod touch Ipod touch 2g jailbreak

Since my ipod touch 2g has been "semi bricked" by 4.2.1, i wanted to jailbreak it. What would a be the best software to use to jalbreak it? I would prefer it not to involve my mbp because i dont want anything to happen to it
