How much better is the Iphone 3G S over the current ipod touch?

I read up on something like the current gen touch has 520mhz, and the new iphone has 600mhz? I dunno if that's a big difference or not, I'm not a techie. And can you jailbreak just for the background and not change anything else? And if I want to jailbreak, should I get a 2g instead of waiting for a 3g? Last question: I read that the Touch 2g has a FM radio chip, but it isn't doing anything.. What's up with that?

The second gen ipod touch has a 532mhz processor and 128mb of ram. the iphone 3g S has a 600mhz processor and 256mb of ram. You would easily notice the difference between the 2. The 3G S also has a better GPU to handle better graphics in games.

Hopefully the 3rd gen ipod touch also gets the faster processor and twice the ram. that would make me want to upgrade my first gen touch
