Quick questions all... about to buy a new touch

does the second generation have a vibrate feature like iPhone?!?

THANKS! :apple:

thank you sir, i appreciate the quick response!!

anyone think they touch ever will get vibrate?

Not even the psp and ds has vibrate. So why would a music player need it?

IDK it would be cool though

I am priveledged enough to own a first gen touch and a iPhone 3G and I must say the vibrate adds that little extra something haha :D

But that's the thing, it's a phone. The only thing I can think of that would make vibrate useful on the iPod touch is when Apple finally allows push, for when you get notifications and messages for different apps.

For interaction with games like the playstation and xbox controllers. Just because nobody else has done it doesn't mean nobody ever will. Like I said earlier I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it but it wouldn't surprise me if Apple did implement it at some point either.

put the speaker at full volume and play someting and it will vibrate:D

I own an iPhone 3g myself, and I know the iPod is supposed to be the "funnest" ever, but wouldn't it be nice if it had a vibration option for when you want it to be silent in a meeting or something and to kinda have an alarm clock?

The Samsung P3 is supposed to have a Haptic (vibrating) touch screen and should be out shortly after CES 2009 in January. Why am I pointing this out? If it proves very popular then Apple may add it to the Touch next June when the 3rd generation comes out.

i've had samsung cellphones for years but i'm of the opinion it's not that much of a trend started, and Apple is not really a trend follower..they will add it if they've thought about it during these last years and not because Samsung is doing it.

Thats not the kind of vibration he is talking about. Haptic gives you feedback when you press something kind of like when you hit a key on the keyboard. He is talking about something that vibrates like a phone.

Apple is very much a trend follower they just jump in when ever they feel like it and then makes it look like everyone is copying them.

I don't see why you want your touch to vibrate unless you are watching some sort of movie for the naughty fuzzy tingle times. Even then I am not sure how that would work nor do I want to know.

whoa puffnstuff... don't know where thats comin from.

Im jsut saying for games...hello "funnest iPod ever :apple:"

I do think it adds to the experience.

And no i do not mean haptic responses

Sure that's what the all say ;)

To enhance the gaming experience I would like to see a gamepad add on with a slot you can put some sort of cartridge in or sd card for the games that are to extensive to be downloaded from the app store.

I stopped checking that icontrol pad site a few months ago it never materialized into anything. Just a prototype and bull promises it will come out soon.

I rather see a gamepad that works with the app store games though

I've got to agree with you there - vibration feedback would definitely add to the gaming experience, in exactly the same way it does on consoles.

The lack of vibration feedback is the main reason I ignored the PS3 for years, but as they now have it, I may have to reconsider ;)
