I guess the person to answer this question would probably need to know about imaging iPod touch and maybe a bit of the file structure of the iPod touch 2nd generation 3.0 firmware jail broken by redsnow 0.8.

I'm running on Windows XP Sp3.
This is a request for help to image my iPod touch.
The purpose is so I can restore my iPod touch and all the applications and their data including the jail broken ones.. ..
And then re-sync with Itunes and be completely up and running.

It would be nice if I could create a .ipsw or something which includes all my applications such as backgrounder, winter board, supreme preferences 3.0 , six rows among many others.

I guess the main painful parts are :
- re-adding all the pesky sources one by one into Cydia
-re-installing the the pesky apps.. Even though Cydia has "Queuing" IT CRASHES
- getting all my Jail broken application data back.. such as my progress in Wolf3D game lolz.

well I can FTP to my iPod and then download the entire root
I don't really care about the songs and videos because I can re-sync with Itunes and my hard drive is backed up anyways..
But it's a real pain to re-jailbreak and setup all the applications again..

How can I backup my entire jail broken 3.0 firmware iPod ..
I can SSH to it. And I can FILEZILLA to it.

I have applications like backgrounder, Cydia, icy ,winterboard..
And something which take lots of time to configure such as
IM+ .. Many logins..
blogpress. Many logins

I'm wondering if I just have all the files structure backed up.. Could I simply maybe just use filezilla and FTP all the files..
maybe If something goes wrong I can restore to 3.0 firmware
Re-jailbreak
Install openSSH or whatever.. and then
Use FTP to transfer all the files back

What about the PERMISSIONS? .. I'm guessing the permissions won't be exactly the same after I transfer the files and the dylib files I might have to run in -s or something to make the files work ?
