iPod touch iPod Touch 3G does not sync unless I reboot

My iPod Touch 3G only syncs once on my Powerbook G4. I find that I have to reboot to get it to sync again. I've tried logging off, two different cables and each USB port.

Is there something wrong with my account?

That's a rather old computer, that runs non-Intel OS-X 10.4.11. Apple doesn't support that operating system very much any more. But it does run iTunes 9.2. Is that what you are using?

Yes. I am using iTunes 9.2.1

Why do we have to update our OSs so often with Apple. I mean the laptop is 6 years old and OS 10.4 isn't that old.

I think iTunes 10.0.1 is available for the PowerPC, based on what it says at apple.com/itunes . You might try that.
