iPod touch 3g stuck on recovery mode and my PC won't even recognize it

Hello I'm a new ipod touch owner and I'm about to cry.

i recently bought this Jailbroken ipod touch 3g from this guy and I decided to reset it to factory settings so I "deleted all the contents" thingy and the ipod touch did some loading and ***** and now the "USB cable and the itunes logo" showed up and I plugged my ipod touch into my Laptop with itunes installed and voila it doesn't even recognize it and the itunes won't sync, it didn't mount or anything BUT IT IS CHARGING so the cable seems fine. Now I only have this ipod touch with the usb and itunes logo on the screen paperweight and my PC won't even recognize it.


I tried plugging on a different Computer but to no avail.

Please help me? My heart is making some shattering sounds right now....T_T

try a holding the power and home buttons until the ipod restarts or

get into dfu so itunes can recognize and restore by

holding home and power for 15 seconds, releasing power and continue holding home until itunes recognizes a ipod in dfu mode.

But..

i can't seem to activate the DFU mode..

How do I know if my ipod is in the DFU already?

turn it off while it is connected to pc, run itunes (keep itunes window up), put in dfu mode. that worked for me! DFU: hold home and power for 15 seconds, releasing power and continue holding home until itunes recognizes a ipod in dfu mode. Good luck!!!
