My Ipod touch 3G external speakers stopped working. The headphones work, it works in dock but no volume, sound when on it's own. The volume is all the way up and I tried several other thiings that just music that had sound or sound effects/music before. Nothing. The weird part is that when you try to turn the volume up or down with the buttons that are on the side it says "headphones volume" and it used to say just "volume" or something but definitely not the headphones part.

Suspected here is a new docking station that also has an external mp3 player connection thru JB and that we tested yesterday. Shortcut? Though the iPod works in the dock and on the external mp3 connection on it.

ideas?

The iPod fixed itself...

the regular alarm (thru calendar in this case) came on, thru speakers and ever since that the external speakers are back in game.

So, if you have the same problem.. try alarm.

Yet, I would love to know what was the problem in the first place.
