I am looking into hooking up an iPod to the AUX port of the car radio.

Can anyone confirm if the sound quality of the iPod touch 3rd gen and iPod video 5.5 gen is equivalent when using the low-level analog signal through the line out pin in the dock connector?

Or is one better than the other one?

Thanks!

While no iPods have the best sound (many players are superior), the newer generations use higher quality audio chips (starting with the 2008 models onwards) - there will definitely be some improvement on the 3rd gen touch in comparison with the iPod video.
