It is very likely to have 512 MB RAM. The iphone had 512MB RAM and the ipod touch followed VERY closely this year.

Any guesses as to why Apple would be mum on this? Seems like a pretty simple piece of information to keep it a secret if it does have 512 MB. What's the big deal. Why not just list it in the specs?

512 MB would be a Good Estimate.

Numerous tech blogs have reported that the new iPod touch had the same smoothiness as the iPhone 4. The IPT is running the A4 processsor, the same as iPhone. I would assume that Apple would defiently match the 1.0 Ghz processor with 512 Mb of ram. Afterall, this will be the first widespread use of multi-tasking on the iPod touch.
