im getting mine next week....
i cant wait...
its amajor improvement from my 8gb 2nd gen.
cant wait to experience those backgrounds, multitasking,
cameras, retina display (or wateva higher res screen it is)

but ios 4.1 is pretty lame,
i got my 8gb and its already got ping on the itunes store,
so its not an ios 4.1 feature as advertised on the apple store.
and who cares about 99 cent movie rentals.

but back to the hapier note... itouch 4 seems awesome!!!!!!!

Yeah not quite sure how Ping got on my iPod so fast...I didn't do any sort of software update or anything. Strange.

Anyway, yeah I'm upgrading from the 2nd gen too. I'm looking to all the things you listed plus the upgraded battery life and processor. Also, Gamecenter is going to be really cool I think once it catchs on.

No it is already live on 4.0.2

The only other feature Apple are promoting for iOS4.1 and the touch is Game Center. Hopefully there might be some little extras sneak in for the 4g touch (like HDR) but I am looking forward to getting my hands on all the new shiny goodness of the 4g regardless.

I even ordered some body protection for my new iPod Touch. If anyone is interested, this site is selling them for free, all u have to pay is for shipping. I ordered two, so I'm just paying around $5. yeah we got pretty much all we asked for.
al those complaining about the camera shud stop their whining,
cuz ill say tht the 0.7mp hi res video camera or wateva it is is better than no camera at all.
and yeah... longer battery, and A4 chip!! cant wait to see PvZ load faster. xD

An Apple employee I talked to online said it does have HDR!

I'm also really excited for the new iPod touch! For me it's a huge upgrade since I'm currently using an 8gb 1st gen.
