I have an iPod touch 4G 64gb and the battery has been getting worse and now doesnt work at all. If I plug it into a wall charger it boots up but as soon as it is unplugged it instantly dies.

When I plug it into the computer it begins to boot and displays the apple logo for about 20 seconds and then reboots. This process loops endlessly.

It is still under warranty from Apple except it is jailbroken and I need to restore it except I can not get it to boot while plugged into the computer. I have tried restoring the iPod from the settings menu but it always hangs and says that the iPod can not be restored!

I dont know if this makes a difference but it boots semi-tethered so cydia and all the jailbroken stuff doesnt work.

How can I get this restored/wiped/erased??

solved

well I ended up taking it in to the Apple store anyway and they couldnt even get it to turn on so they gave me a new one. :D
