help appreciated with solving this but please read in full first.

note (latest itunes and laptop proven good for updating restoring with other iphones, different usb ports and usual basic fault finding tried and tested, also tired nearly all of the below on another PC to no avail).

history unknown ipod touch 4th gen
got this free with known fault, told fault was code 3194.

stuck in DFU mode permanently
confirmed in DFU mode by checking on USB driver info and via redsn0w.
to confirm, will not come out of DFU mode.

plugged into itunes and asked to restore being in DFU mode.
clicked restore after downloading new ios.
goes past first stages until hits 'waiting for ipod'
sticks on this stage, ipod shows apple logo and progress bar underneath but does not move, itunes shows progress bar not moving and 'waiting for ipod' status.

tried downloading older ios and restoring with those, only then get fault code 3194.

tried disabling all firewalls many times throughout.

checked 'hosts' folder, all is correct, and in default layout etc. (worth mentioning this computer is proven good for itunes and updating etc as have other iphones restored / update with no problems)

then downloaded iReb, put into pwndDFU mode and tried again with various ios, no change.

tried 'get out of recovery' options on redsn0w etc and no luck.

tried to jailbreak using redsn0w using various ios and ipod seems to try boot up, redsn0w completes jailbreak program, but ipod sticks on pineapple image on screen, left for hours with no change.

tried restoring via redsn0w but will not allow due to no SHSH blobs present on PC or able to find any via searching on cydia or itunes.

used tinyumberella to try source blobs, but device does not show on left side panel when connected so nothing occurs when asked to start server.
tried to copy and paste ECID sourced from redsn0w into panel on tinyumberella but does not work.

this is as far as i have got, seems to be a startup / booting problem?

can take some screenshots if required
thanks
