iPod touch iPod Touch 4G Microphone Question

Hi,

Just got a iPod Touch 4G for my fiancee... i was wondering if the external microphone will still work if normal Apple earphones (not the ones with remote and mic) are plugged in? i.e. can you use the earphones so nobody else can hear, but the external microphone still picks up sound??

Yes.

I used it this way when i tested Facetime with my dad that one time. It worked perfectly. I've never used Facetime since. XD
