Hi guys,

I purchased a faulty iPod touch from a auction company. They said that the home button wasn't working so I figured i'd buy it, fix the home button and use it.

I turned the ipod on and it had a passcode -.-, the auction company couldn't tell me the passcode as the ipod is sold "as is". Now im trying to put the ipod into DFU mode to reset it. But because my home button is not working i cant!

I've tried the following:

- Recboot ( Didn't Work )
- Itunes ( Wont let me restore due to passcode )

How am i going to get this ipod into DFU mode!

Thanks guys !

You best bet is to fix the home button first which won't really be hard unless it was broken by water( there's still A way to fix it) then restore

When you connect to iTunes does it say there is an update?
I think there might be a way but it's kinda complicated and might not work.
