I got my iPod Touch this week and have had a slight problem. After connecting to my mac and charging for a while I downloaded some new apps. I left the iPod sitting (connected) while I did some browsing on the mac and then spotted that it was sitting with an Apple logo, I let it reboot and carried on. After a while it did the same again but stuck on the Apple logo (which seemed to flicker occassionally). I ended up having to force it off by holding the home & sleep buttons.
That night I left it in sleep mode. The next day while I was in work my wife said she tried to turn it on and it wouldn't start, then a while later it started up spontaneously. By the time I got home it was just showing a low battery warning.
I deleted the Skype app as I'd heard that could cause battery issues. I also updated the Facebook app as the update mentioned a fix for a crash when push notifications were recieved. Later that night I got another spontaneous reboot.
I don't know if it's an app causing it or if I have a faulty iPod.
Apps installed are Facebook, Flickr, Pocket Guitar, Touchgrind, Labyrinth Lite, SoundPond and Baby Scratch.
What can I do to troubleshoot the problem? Are there any diags beyond the usual update/reset/restore procedures?
