Hi all,

I just got my new 32GB Touch 4G yesterday. I had an 3rd generation Touch before.

Now I realise that the performance of normal operations is worse than with the old model. For example if I open a folder. The animation is not as smooth anymore. Funnily enough that only happens when there are a lot of icons on the page. With less icons it is as smooth as before.

Also, certain games loads faster on my old iPod compared to the 4G. I thought the new iPod was supposed to be faster.

Well the iPod touch has the same gpu, but the cpu is newer (the A4), however, because of the higher screen res the cpu has to work a lot harder on just displaying the normal system. The slow loading of games, might be a product of the game having to switch to HD mode for you iPod touch as its default might be for older gens.

Makes sense.

Im still a little confused, bc I've seen videos on YouTube where the 4G is outperforming the 3G on every task, but in my case, it's the opposite.
