So I have a 4g ipod touch that shut off randomly and i tried to restore it with itunes but i think i kept getting a restore error or it wasnt recoginzed by itunes. i ended up resetting everything on it through the settings menu thinking that itunes would fix it when it connected then, but now i keep getting a restore error. please help

update: it won't even turn on now and when connected to my pc, it shows as an unrecognized device. my ipod responds to the home and power buttons when held and my pc makes audible noises letting me know so, but still blank screen.

If it's not jail broken take it to the Apple Genius in the retail store.

Try to restore through a different computer. If that doesn't work, try to do so with a different 30pin-to-USB cable and different network environment.
