I have an iPod touch 6th gen that loses battery power almost instantly. After some troubleshooting steps, I confirmed the battery needed to be replaced. I viewed several How-to videos and followed every step closely. I installed the new battery, powered on the iPod before closing it all up. When I put the "battery flex cable cover" on, I got a spark from the solder I had just added. One of the videos suggested I put a piece of Kapton Tape over the connection BEFORE placing the cover on it, but it didn't have 1 to begin with.

This is the video I decided to go off of:

Has anyone come across this issue and if so, is it that I need to have the Kapton tape before adding the cover?

Interesting. From what I know Apple doesn't even replace the battery on these. They just exchange the device.

Wonder if they would exchange for a 7th gen. :D
