I got an iPod Touch last week. Everything works fine... except the alarm. My mum has had an iPod Touch for nearly a year now and she uses its alarm all the time. It always goes off for her. I've tried and it just doesn't work. I managed to get it to go off once but that was by not switching the iPod off. However, when I switch the iPod off the alarm never comes on.

I suppose I could live without it. It's just annoying me now and I need an answer. I've tried Googling but come up with nothing.

Try restoring it, what firmware are you on?

Erm... I'm using iPhone OS 3 (the one that just came out). I'm not sure if that's what you mean by firmware though.

I did some more googling and I can see no mention of whether the alarm clock works with the iPod switched off or in Standby. The alarm does work in Standby, but when I switch the iPod fully off it won't work. Is this normal? That's really all I want to know. If not I'll try restoring when I get home from work.

It is normal for the alarm to not work when it's shut off- shut off as in meaning the power is turned off.

Just use your head:p

Thank you. It was actually my mum who told me that her alarm works when it's switched off. I did try to ask her about this several times. She kept insisting that hers was switched off.
