iPod touch iPod touch and auto-sync?

When I plug in my nano it syncs with it automatically, but it doesn't on my touch? What's up? Latest firmware, latest iTunes. Is this a broad issue, or just me?

Mine only syncs when I open Itunes up myself.

Even though 'Open up Itunes when is Ipod is connected' is checked in Itunes.

Who knows why!

What is a good iPod touch to get when you will use the internet a lot on it. I was going to get the 16 GB iPod touch.
