iPod touch ipod touch and Windows XP Professional 2002

I was able to sync my new ipod touch with itunes at my initial sync. However, I have not been able do it again. When connecting the ipod touch i hear three blips and I tunes does not recognize the ipod. It does recognize another I pod nano and a shuffle which we use but not the ipod touch. Can anyone assist?

Have you tried using a different sync cable or a different computer altogether? If worst comes to worst you can try reinstalling iTunes.

You need at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 (which was released in 2004) to properly use your iPod touch on that computer.

I have reinstalled iTunes various times without success. Also, I have Windows Service Pack 2.
